It is possible now to combine the features of VRF with a water circuit using City Multi Water source VRF system. In this format the heat is rejected to a water loop. Benefits of water source VRF systems are greater diversity, flexibility, supreme thermal comfort and increased COP level.
The Water source VRF is capable of operating in a wide range of entering water temperatures. Low limit standard entering water temperature is 50⁰F and that can be lowered further to 23⁰F with the addition of glycol in the water loop of entering water to VRF condenser.
City Multi water source VRF system can be integrated into geothermal system (Heating and cooling loop). During summer, City Multi Ground source heat pump removes heat from the building and disperses in the ground. In winter, thermal energy is extracted from the ground and used to heat the building.
Water source VRF system is comprised of single or multiple heads connected to VRF water source condenser(s) via refrigeration piping. On the hydronic side Water source VRF condenser(s) is connected to heat adder and heat rejecter or geothermal system via hydronic water piping.

City Multi WR2-Series has a capacity range of 72K~336K Btu/hr and features a condensing unit and multiple indoor units that are capable of providing simultaneous heating and cooling modes as needed. The secret lies in our patented heat recovery system that acts as a balanced heat exchanger. This allows City Multi to use the by-products of cooling and heating to transfer energy where it’s needed, when it’s needed thus resulting ultra-high level of COP’s.
Ease of Maintenance. City Multi allows technicians to monitor and collect detailed system information on or off-site directly from their PCs. They can observe processes from multiple systems, including pressure and temperature readings, display and control LEV settings, and monitor the activity of all connected indoor units.
