New Federal Heat Pump Rebate Program Announced

The Government of Canada has announced a $2 billion investment over eight years to support home energy retrofits, reduce energy costs and lower emissions.

The new National Heat Pump Rebate program aims to help up to 820,000 households switch to eligible electric cold-climate air-source heat pumps.

Important Update: November 1, 2026

The program is expected to launch in early 2027. Eligible heat pump installations completed on or after November 1, 2026, may qualify for retroactive rebates, subject to the program’s final eligibility requirements. Keep your installation documents and receipts, and check official updates for application details.
